While a popular mountain bike location, Twin Buttes is also a multi-use trail system just west of Downtown Durango.

The Cheese Country trail, as other reviews state, is not a relaxing ride. Absolutely smashing ride all the way to Aiken (they seem to have opened up the preserve so there were a few extra miles). I highly recommend that anyone traveling through the area take the time to ride any portion of this trail. Durango, Colorado is a hiking paradise.

I rode on a weekend so there was quite a bit of ATV traffic. Perins Peak Trail is a rather lengthy and difficult hike, but it is also one of the most rewarding day hikes Durango has to offer.
