love the room. We have two Ektorp armchairs in our master bedroom. I see you change to gray and wondered about that or did you use slipcovers that are not from IKEA?

If it’s the main cover, I get that sucker on asap and begin my smoothing process. I like the main cover to be the first piece on after the wash. We do everything on this sofa, especially because we all fit so no one has to fight for a spot LOL. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home.

I wanted to buy the smaller sectional sofa so badly but my husband thought it would tear up quickly. If you’ve read the IKEA instructions they say not to use bleach and I  very rarely do. It cleaned it beautifully.

I’m not sure I can go back to a non slipcovered sofa, I love the freedom of not being scared of stains or having to constantly fuss at the kids to keep their feet of the sofa or whatever. But like all workouts, worth the effort when you’re done! After I remove the covers, I always do up the zippers before washing. Yes having slipcovers with children is really a godsend! The quilt is machine-washable at 60°C, a temperature that kills dust mites. I tried washing my extorp ikea sectional cover and it shrunk in the dryer! I find it’s very rough on fabric. This is where I’ve added my own spin to how to wash Ikea slipcovers. I’ve tried oxiclean and I’ve tried using rubbing alcohol with no luck.

Sissy it really hasn’t been a problem for us at all. I put them on timed dry and check after 2 minutes. (. I Love the Ektorp armchairs as well, the profiles are just a little bit too big for our space, or I would’ve replaced our living room chair with one ages ago I think. I think they turned out great. Those slipcovers are pretty much essential for life with kids and pets. Can you tell me the gray paint color you used? We put it in the washing machine and instead of using high efficiency detergent, we used OxiClean liquid.

Hey there! I quickly take them out, shake them again and race them upstairs. I plan to buy the dark gray covers and wanted a light gray for the walls.

I wash them in warm water/cold rinse on a normal cycle. I wash the Ektorp covers in 3 loads { back cushion covers, seat cushion covers, and the base cover}.
