We’ll camp here, usually completely alone – quite a change from the sometimes busyness of the river – and enjoy an evening and dinner along the river (prepared by our guides) before spending the night on the beach. At the end of the day, we shuttle back to camp.

Rafting the South Fork of the American River with OARS is California’s most popular river trip. The river bends sharply right and then left, passing Gunsight Rock. The river bends left into a short pool then back to the right where a boulder cluster marks the entry to the rapid. Please note that camping reservations must be made in advance of arrival and guests may check-in between 3:30 and 8:00 PM.
